Experience
Advanced Boiler Controls Services, Inc., Project Intern - June 2019 -  Present
Crown Point, Indiana
  • Design new logo for company
  • Develop social media platforms
  • Update company website
  • Make 6-7 week program that covers the habits of the company

Benefits: I grew so much from my time at Advanced Boiler Control Services, designing the website, 7- Week Habits Program, and logo, were huge tasks that took loads of brainpower. Every time I hit a roadblock I did loads of research to solve the problem. The website consisted of trial and error, but in the end, it turned out beautiful. I had the opportunity to work with designers on the logo which taught me that communication is key when coming to an agreement. The 7-Week Habits Program allowed me to fully understand that great ideas don't come easily, they brew up overtime. I had over 30 different ideas before I settled on the one that would best fit the company, and that is when the infographics came into existence. This internship gave me real-world experiences, and I am so thankful to have had this opportunity.

Hope College Residential Life, Resident Assistant - January 2019 - Present
Holland, Michigan
  • Keep 25-50 residents safe physically, emotionally, and psychologically
  • Plan 5 events a semester to educate and entertain residents
  • Educate residents through decorating 5 bulletin boards a semester
  • Send weekly emails explaining upcoming events happening throughout Hope College's Campus

Benefits: I love being one of the people that helps form relationships among students. Granted not all roommate relationships work, but having the opportunity to teach my residents how to live cordially was very rewarding. Every situation I have encountered is unique in its own way. You have to be able to diagnose your purpose in the situation before you can help solve it, and I learned that sometimes situations can't be solved, and that's okay! Also, knowing when a situation is out of your capabilities is a very important part of being a Resident Assistant. In order to make it through the year, you have to lean on your Residential Team for help when you need it. This was a valuable lesson, I learned very quickly. I use to not be good about asking for help, but things can escalate drastically in the dorms so having an extra person around to help control situations was always greatly appreciated. I am excited to be apart of the 8th Street Team and excited to get to know my new colleagues and residents this fall!

Maurices, Sales Associate - April 2017- December 2017
Schererville, IN
  • Attempt to fulfill customer needs by assisting with their selections
  • Assist other store locations with merchandise requests
  • Reviewed/Analyzed register data hourly to keep floor employees informed of their sales
  • Introduced new fashions
  • Read surveys of latest fashion trends
  • Neatened and cleaned store

Benefits: This was a challenging and rewarding position. It provided me with the opportunity to create an unforgettable shopping experience for our customers I strived to make each customer look and feel their best when exiting the store. My favorite part about work was when a customer would come out of the fitting room, see themselves in the mirror, and start crying because they never thought they could look that beautiful. My goal each and every day was to get that same expression out of each customer. I learned that each person is beautiful in their own unique way, and in order to get a person to realize it you must be as genuine as possible when working with them. If I didn't go to school two hours away I would most likely still be working at Maurices because that is how much I loved working with the customers and my old colleagues. If you want a rewarding job I highly recommend Maurices.
