During my time interning for Advanced Boiler Control Services, Inc. (ABCS is a professional field service company that specializes in boiler controls, instrumentation, and engineering design for combustion control systems.) I worked as a project intern and for one of my projects I had the opportunity to create a 7-week program that was focused on diagnosing the habits of their company. I decided to go the creative route and create an acronym, "B.O.I.L.E.R.S.", each letter thoroughly describes an opportunity for improvement for the corporation. I did not want the program to be like school, therefore the usage of infographics came into play. Futuristically, the benefit of the infographics is to help save the administrative board's time. If there is a complaint about an employee they will be emailed a PDF of the infographic and be asked to review it. This new innovative way to get your point across without wasting time and energy.

I had the opportunity to develop and design the Advanced Boiler Control Services website. Feel free to take a quick look on a laptop or cell phone! (The Link is the G+) This is the third website I have done, but I am by far the proudest of this one. I strongly encourage taking a look at the website on a laptop to see all of the intricate animations.

The Pull is one of the oldest college traditions in North America. This Press Release is meant to invite people to come and participate in the tradition, inform where it is, and give a little backstory on what the Pull even is.

This Press Release was a made up scenario giving examples of the publicity Hope College would recieve if they invented a Hope College Dining App.

Hope College Campus Safety was the client in my 200 level public relations course. The Barbecue Jubliee was an example of an event that the Campus Safety could host to make more connections with students and staff at Hope College.

The Freshman 15 is something that every college student fears when beginning college. There was definitely a story here waiting to be written. In this Feature Story I discuss in a comical way how to run away from the Freshman 15.

Someone on the Pull team, who I am very close to, had their Pull Poster vandalized, therefore I decided to write a Feature Story on it. I wanted to spread awareness about discrimination in Pull, how this affected other women, and how this ongoing problem needs to be stopped.

Fall semester of my Sophomore year I had the opportunity to take an independent study. During that time period I worked on identifying the most effective ways Hope College Dining Services could improve their dining halls. One of my deliverables was a 32 page plans book explaining my research and the steps they would have to take to improve the dining halls.

I had the opportunity to go abroad to Europe for a Strategic Communication May Term. Throughout the 3 weeks we traveled the United Kingdom. During this time we had to chose a campaign to research. I was very interested in football in the United Kingdom, therefore I found the Premier League's campaign, "No Room For Racism". This was one of the most intricate campaigns I have ever seen! In my research I discuss every aspect of the campaign's effectiveness and discuss if this campaign would have done well in the United States.

The goal of having Hope College's Campus Safety as our client, in my public relations course, was to pinpoint the areas of improvement within their organization. In order to accomplish this my team and I had to conduct a series of surveys to identify what Campus Safety does good and bad. Our goal was to use our research to back up our claims. Our research became one of our biggest deliverables to give to Campus Safety.

One of our last deliverables for Campus Safety was coming up with a hashtag "#Safe&Sound". We wanted this hashtag to not only be on their website and social media, but I wanted to give the officers shirts to wear around campus that incorporate the hashtag.
(Plus the shirts are really comfortable and stylish) |
